Since our company was founded in 1977, we’ve established and reinforced our position as a leading global automotive consultancy and technology firm that drives innovation into every corner of the industry. We do this through our unrivaled industry sales data and science-driven approach, which is carried out by our global team of automotive business scientists, some of the industry’s foremost experts.  Recognizing the importance of developing talent at every level to continue to move our company – and industry – forward, we strive to help the next generation of industry leaders discover their formulas for success, at home, at work and in their communities. That’s why we offer a hands-on internship experience, which includes mentorship from industry experts and opportunities to contribute to meaningful projects across our global office locations.

Our 2024 summer internship cohort
This year we’re pleased to welcome 29 interns to our summer cohort – and our organization. This group includes 21 U.S.-based interns, plus four interns in the United Kingdom, two in Spain and two in Germany. These students will support various departments including finance, information technology (IT) and local area management (LAM), among others. Within this year’s summer internship class are several returning interns, many of whom have been working with us for over a year.

Hands-on learning: the internship experience at Urban Science
To foster our interns’ personal and professional growth, building soft and technical skills that will carry them throughout their careers, we’ve developed a comprehensive program that engages (college-aged) student professionals in a variety of hands-on activities and experiences, allowing them to work closely with – and learn from – our leaders, and build meaningful relationships that last long beyond our summer program.

Beyond their work helping to solve mission-critical challenges within our organization and across the automotive industry, our company’s interns participate in a variety of programs including:

  • Internship networking program: dedicated time during which interns across different departments will be paired up, mixing experienced and new interns, to engage in discussions with questions focusing on their achievements, learning goals and career paths. The program aims to foster camaraderie and a holistic understanding of the company.
  • Lunch and learns: info sessions with senior leaders and executives from different departments, including IT, sales, HR and others. Leaders share their experiences and offer guidance regarding career success and more.
  • Scrum training session and SQL resources and introduction: deep-dive sessions with subject matter experts into commonly used project management techniques and coding language used at our company.
  • End-of-program presentations: five-minute presentations to various managers and leaders about significant accomplishments, completed projects/assignments and/or lessons learned during the program. A company favorite!
  • Soft skills, professional etiquette, problem-solving and critical-thinking training programs (UK only): sessions dedicated to building general knowledge of working in a professional environment.
  • Various networking and team-building activities

When the summer program is finished, some interns may continue with us on a part-time basis when the school year begins while others may be offered full-time positions or continue their professional journey elsewhere following graduation.
